Chapter 1. General Provisions
Article 1 (Purpose)
The purpose of these publication regulations is to clearly define the procedures for the regular publication, open access online publishing, and operation of special issues of the Journal of Arts and Cultural Studies (ACS) (hereinafter referred to as “the Journal”).
Article 2 (Title)
The official title of the journal is Journal of Arts and Cultural Studies (ACS), which is published under the auspices of the Korea Institute for Humanities and Social Sciences (KIHSS).
Article 3 (Publishing Method)
The Journal adopts an open access (OA) publishing model. Submitted manuscripts are made publicly available online as soon as they have undergone peer review and copy editing. The Journal follows a continuous publishing system, which means articles are published online immediately upon becoming ready for publication.
Chapter 2. Regular and Special Issues
Article 4 (Regular Issues)
The Journal is published on a biannual basis, with official issue dates of June 30 and December 31 each year. Articles published online during each half-year period are compiled into archival issues (Issue 1 and Issue 2) and collectively regarded as a single annual volume.
Article 5 (Special Issues)
When there is a special academic need—such as academic conferences, research projects, or thematic initiatives—the Editorial Board may review and approve the publication of special or supplementary issues.
Article 6 (Language of Publication)
This journal publishes articles exclusively in English.
Chapter 3. Other Provisions
Article 7 (Amendments)
These regulations may be amended upon the proposal of the Editor-in-Chief or at least three editorial board members, followed by deliberation and approval of the Editorial Board.
Article 8 (Enforcement)
These publication regulations shall take effect as of May 1, 2022.
Article 9 (Supplementary Rules)
Matters not specified in these regulations shall be governed by general academic publishing practices and the decisions of the Editorial Board.
