We, who are engaged in the exploration of humanistic knowledge and research on its social and cultural-industrial applications in South Korea, squarely face the fact that today's digital environment is fundamentally transforming the paradigm of the production, dissemination, and utilization of humanistic knowledge. We recognize that "Digital Humanities" is a universal turn occurring across all domains of pure and applied humanities; it is not merely another sub-discipline, but a new framework that expands the humanities through the convergence of knowledge by enabling mutual communication among specific fields that were divided into numerous branches in the past. Accordingly, we have gathered our shared intent to participate in the global effort seeking the innovation of the humanities under the name of "Digital Humanities," and aim to explore practical measures suitable for this purpose.
One. The Korean Association for Digital Humanities aims to contribute to establishing a foundation for the flourishing of the humanities domestically through research and education in digital humanities, and internationally to present progressive alternatives to the global digital humanities community based on our unique academic experiences and achievements.

The Korean humanities community has accumulated achievements in pure humanities upon the foundation of our nation's profound tradition of knowledge and culture, while simultaneously pioneering new domains of cultural content by exploring the industrial applications of the humanities since the year 2000. Hoping that digital humanities will contribute to the communication and mutual prosperity of both traditional pure humanities and cultural content studies as applied humanities, we hereby propose the founding of the "Korean Association for Digital Humanities" to fulfill the aforementioned missions through our collectiveefforts.
