The Korean Journal of Digital Humanities (KJDH) is delighted to welcome a distinguished scholar to our Editorial Board.

We are honored to be joined by Professor Javier Cha of the University of Hong Kong, a leading researcher at the forefront of digital humanities innovation.

Javier Cha (University of Hong Kong, Hong Kong)

Professor Cha serves as Assistant Professor of Digital Humanities in the Department of History at the University of Hong Kong, where he has led the Big Data Studies Lab (BDSL) since 2019. His pioneering research explores new methodologies for the humanities in the age of big data and artificial intelligence. Specializing in medieval Korean history and East Asian intellectual history, Professor Cha has gained international recognition for his innovative work integrating graph database technology and digital archive methods into historical scholarship.

As a founding member of the Leiden University Centre for Digital Humanities and former Associate Professor at Seoul National University's College of Liberal Studies, Professor Cha has maintained strong academic ties with the Korean digital humanities community. He recently delivered keynote lectures at both DH2025 and the 2025 Korean Association for Digital Humanities (KADH) annual conference.

We are confident that Professor Cha's international vision and deep expertise in big data humanities will be invaluable as KJDH continues to strengthen its global scholarly network and advance new horizons for humanities research in the digital age.

We thank you for your continued interest and support for KJDH.

Sincerely,

The KJDH Editorial Board
