Abstract

The situation of women has been set on the dual structure of patriarchy system and resistance against imperialism in the third world countries. Islamic and Confucian tradition also had been formed and developed to make patriarchy system's position secure. Finally it has gone far toward repressing women in the Confucian and Islamic countries. However, this repressive situation has been continued in those countries even after they had finished the reform of modernization. Many part of system and law about women had been changed so that it seemed as the emancipation of women had been arrived in those countries from the distance. Unfortunately the reform changed just the outside of society. The reform of modernization had been realized by the male group of new intellectuals so the discourse of women also had been accomplished by the taste of them. They had pursued to European city women so that the new women who educated and westernized women had been born in those countries. They tried to show their advancement of their country to western countries. In this situation of resistance of imperialism, the discourse of women was easy to be used for the ideology of nation. So the modernistic adoration of motherhood was began by the new intellectuals. This ideology of maternity contributed to divide the women to dual status such as wise and good mother/prostitute, saint/devil. The trial of new women which pursued to new sexuality was excluded completely. The repressive situation of women has been continued in the Islamic and Confucian countries, just the patriarchy system has been represented itself in the different way.
