왕필의 주효론과 다산의 괘주론 비교

초록

주역의 괘효사는 전승 과정에서 숱한 가감이 이루어지면서 매우 난해하게 구성되어 있다. 이에 따라 괘효사의 정확한 의미를 구하기 위하여 많은 시도들이 이루어졌는데, 주효론 괘주론은 그러한 시도들 중의 하나이다. 주효론은 왕필에 의하여 체계화되었으며, 그의 이론의 특징은 중효와 하나의 음효와 양효 중에서 주효를 구하는 것이다. 그러나 정작 왕필 자신은 주역 교석에서 주효 관념을 전반적으로 사용하지 않고 있어서 스스로 주효론에 의한 괘의의 해석이 한계가 있음을 시사하고 있다. 괘주론은 다산에 의하여 효변과 연관하여 제창된 것이다. 다산 역학에서 효변을 하면 지괘로 나가 물상을 구하는 것이 원칙이나 괘주에 해당되는 효는 지괘의 상이 아닌 본괘상에서 물상을 구하게 된다. 다산이 괘주로 삼는 기준은 벽괘에서 음양승강의 원리에 의하여 이동한 획이나 하나의 음효와 양효가 해당된다. 산의 괘주론 역시 괘주에 대한 관념 설정이 자의적일 수 있다는 점은 약점으로 작용하고 있다.

Abstract

The annotation of the hexagram is one of the meanings which the images of the hexagram contains. The annotation on the hexagram is called Dan-Sa in another word which Wang-Pi thinks the meaning of the annotation on the hexagram is derived from the principal line in the hexagram. The origin of the theory of principal line in hexagram is up to Jing-Fa’ng who is the philosopher of the Han-Dynasty. His theory has the characteristics which one Yang is the lord of the hexagram. The concrete research about the principal line of hexagram is Wang-Pi and Dasan. Wang-Pi focused to the annotation of the hexagram while Dasan focused to the annotation of its line. The theory of Wang-Pi is connected to the ‘Theory of the Line Position’ in the hexagram. ‘Theory of the Line Position’ in the hexagram explains the annotation of the hexagram-line being based on the harmony and up-down of Yin and Yang, acquisition of suitable and middle position in the hexagram. Wang-Pi also supports the theory which one Yin or Yang is the lord of the hexagram. Dasan supports the theory of up and down of Yin and Yang and the theory which one Yin or Yang is the lord of the hexagram. The theory of Dasan is connected to the hexagram-line transformation.
