Abstract
This article is to comparatively analyse the correlativity of the Gengua, which symbolize the mountain of natural figures, in the Zhouyi and the Draw‒Mountain in psychotherapy, and to understand its results through integral standpoint. The reason to select the Gengua is that it is apparent material phenomena symbolizing the mountain and has the symbolical meaning of cessation, difficulty, predicament, which are common with draw‒mountain interpretation. The article is to amplify the symbolical meaning of Gengua based in Zhouyi text, and select the meaning, namely stupidity, death, perfection, nurture etc., preparing to extend the draw‒mountain interpretation. Three draw‒mountain cases are interpreted with Gengua symbol. As a result, draw‒mountain in case 1 can be expansively interpreted as children seeks for teaching or be ignorant, in addition to the difficulty or obstacle blocking the way. Draw‒mountain in case 2 symbolizes the cessation, self‒control, moderation besides winning through difficulties. Draw‒mountain in case 3 includes the problem situation to solve. Additionally, extended interpret‒ations are applied it with the symbolic meaning such as end, death and tomb. The significance of this article is to inquiry into the symbolical correlation both Zhouyi and psychotherapy, as an attempt to understand the complicated mind of human by the standpoint integrated with east and west knowledge.
