The study explored counselors’ microaggression toward LGB clients in the counseling process. A total of 19 LGB adults participated in an in-depth interview and they were asked to describe their experience with microaggression in the counseling process. The data were explored by concept-mapping method, and a multidimensional scaling method and cluster analysis were utilized to investigate the conceptual structure of the microaggression toward LGB clients. The findings revealed two dimensions (i.e. ‘intrude vs. keep distance’ and ‘conventional response vs. counselor response’) five clusters(i.e. Excessive focus on Non-Heterosexual Orientation, Heterosexism, Problematization,. Lack of Knowledge and Understanding of LGB, Exoticization). Finally, the implications and limitations of the study were discussed.
