Hwa-Jeong-Seon-Haeng-Rok has not been studied in Korean academic circles. Hwa-Jeong-Seon-Haeng-Rok is a full-length novel, a family novel in type. Texts of this novel are of three kinds, two collections in Jang-Seo-Gak and one in the Institute of Oriental Studies in Russia. This novel was created in 19th century. The lives of two families, Lim-Po and So-Jook-Heon, and the activities of the heroine, Choong-Hyo-Hye, are the central axis of this novel. Choong-Hyo-Hye is just a daughter of a scholar in retirement, but she has completely changed into a super-powerful woman through her training by a Taoist. She saves the dying hero, Lim-Chang-yun, and defeats the enemy. The Emperor appoints her as a feudal lord and adopts her as his daughter. He unites her and Lim-Chang-yun with marriage. The conflicts of this novel rise by villains, Kim-Seong-Kwang and Chae-Won-Joong, and vice queen Yang, whose characters are liberal. And the activities of extras as clever maids, Mae-Hong and Mae-Seom, are very interesting in their super power. This novel looks at not only the value of the scholar in retirement, but also the life of a general or a prime minister. And this novel aims at not only the idea of Confucianism, but also the fantasy of Taoism. These reflect the desires of the writer and readers in the latter period of the Yi Dinasty.
