Abstract

[The Book of Changes] demonstrated Ethical virtues in a dimension that tells the operation of the Way of Heaven, the creation of all creatures and the changes of four seasons and thus. it opened the horizon of new thought that explained the Human affairs with the Way of Heaven. Defining the human values and Ideals in Confucianism naturalistically. [The Book of Changes] tried to understand Human affairs in a Way of Heaven and eventually sublimated to the dimension of the theory of Universe. Therefore, it made people have a dialectic view as a Holism. [The Book of Changes] made a unique system of thoughts by fusing the autonomy and the heteronomy, the immanence and transcendence. It emphasized that a human should follow the example of Heaven and Land and thus he should behave following the harmony and order of Universal Nature and that the ultimate goal is to reach the Stage of Harmony in which human beings coexist with Things harmoniously by making continuous efforts to practise his goodness. This means that human beings exist by following practical examples and keeping harmonious relations with each individual and a society and Nature and this can be the essential contents and the characteristics of ethical ideology of [The Book of Changes]. As the ethical ideology of [The Book of Changes] consists in the mental power of continuous strain on ever-changing confrontation and unification of 'Yin' and 'Yang', I think it can be a new theoretical alternative to solve the pressing modern problems.
