Abstract
“ch'ŏnkun”(天君) means personification of mind. The prose of ch'ŏnkun(天君) are on the subject of mind control. Chosŏn gentry wants to switch from Buddhism to Confucianism. So, they pay attention to mind, which is the core of Buddhism and Confucianism. Therefore, they create the prose of ch'ŏnkun. In the latter half of the 14th century, Chosŏn gentry encountered some political events, As a result, they think that morality is gone and they must recover it. They devote themselves to study of mind. And they value much of Shimgyŏngbuju(心經附註). This book has innumerable notion and metaphor of mind. More prose of ch'ŏnkun are created and enjoyed. Chosŏn gentry is interested in the prose of ch'ŏnkun, and they think that the prose of ch'ŏnkun form a part of the scholarship of mind.
