Abstract

Open innovation refers to companies overcoming the limitations of existing resources—such as knowledge, technology, R&D, and innovation capabilities—in a rapidly changing and highly competitive environment by utilizing external resource exchanges and knowledge mediation, alongside their internal capabilities. Innovation intermediaries involved in open innovation primarily facilitate collaboration, connect innovation entities, and provide stakeholder services. To analyze the role of innovation intermediaries from the perspectives of resource dependence theory and core competency theory, this study conducted an in-depth analysis of open innovation cases between a large company L and startup E and between a large company H and startup M. The results of the study show that, first, innovation intermediaries resolve resource imbalances between companies and promote open innovation. Second, innovation intermediaries help companies strengthen their core competencies to secure a competitive advantage. Additionally, as demonstrated through insights from the two open innovation cases examined in this paper, it was confirmed that innovation intermediaries must make efforts to connect startups with investors or provide follow-up funding even after open innovation. The significance of this study lies in confirming the critical role of innovation intermediaries in the open innovation process and highlighting the continued need for financial support to startups after open innovation.

Abstract

This study is conducted to find out and understand the relationships between ESG awareness expansion and consumption trends. For detail, this study focuses on understanding the younger consumer’s behavioral changes on ESG awareness, known as “ditto-consumption,” which can be facilitated by social media usage and digital content consumption. This study examined in depth how the MZ generation perceives ESG management and how it affects their consumption behavior. As a result, the MZ generation recognized the company's ESG management as an essential element for the company’s long-term survival and sustainability, not just a simple management strategy. When these ESG factors are combined, the MZ generation’s brand loyalty and product purchase intention tend to increase.

Abstract

As interest in generative AI has rapidly increased in recent years, there is a growing willingness to adopt large-scale AI in the public sector. However, precise implementation methods remain elusive due to various issues related to the introduction of large-scale AI. This study proposes a public data sovereign cloud to address two main challenges when introducing large-scale AI in the public sector: 1) compliance with information disclosure laws and regulations and 2) operation of closed networks. To this end, we examine the concept of a sovereign cloud and propose a definition and implementation strategy for a public data sovereign cloud. Specifically, we present application strategies focusing on construction methods using public-private partnership (PPP) models, network segregation methods according to data grades, and enhancement of the role of Managed Service Providers (MSPs). The results of this study are expected to contribute to policy formulation for introducing and utilizing large-scale AI in the public sector.

Abstract

As the life cycle of technology shortens and the market becomes uncertain due to the acceleration of technology convergence, more and more companies are experiencing innovation failures. If a company experiences failure, it has a significant impact on its business performance, which is why companies that have experienced innovation failures are reluctant to engage in further innovation activities. Since technological innovation is not the opposite of success, securing the success factors of innovation does not reduce failure. Therefore, while it is important to encourage innovation, it is also necessary to eliminate the factors that cause failure. Therefore, this study aims to identify the factors that cause innovation failure in companies from a long-term perspective and to derive strategic factors that can overcome failure, thereby clarifying the connection with performance.

Abstract

This study aims to propose strategic improvements to Korea’s supercomputer demand management policy. Through a comprehensive review of the existing legal framework and the operational plans of national and specialized centers, key structural limitations were identified and categorized into three areas: demand forecasting and planning, resource construction, and ecosystem development. To address these challenges, the study proposes a set of policy measures, including the establishment of mid- to long-term supply-demand planning mechanisms, the incorporation of resource quality metrics, resource provisioning based on reserve ratios, and the formalization of supercomputing within the national science and technology classification system. These recommendations collectively provide a foundation for transitioning from a supply-centric to a demand-responsive governance model in high-performance computing policy

Abstract

This study examines how meta-art principles can enhance online foundational design education for non-art majors. As digital transformation accelerated during the post-pandemic era, this study investigated whether project-based online learning could effectively deliver core design concepts to students without traditional art backgrounds. Grounded in meta-modernist philosophy and meta-art theory, this study applied these frameworks to educational service design. This study conducted a six-month online course with two non-art major participants, documenting their creative development, project outcomes, and interactions with the instructor via Zoom sessions and digital platforms. Our findings demonstrate that meaningful artistic growth and engagement can occur in remote learning environments, despite physical separation. The study reveals the pedagogical value of meta-art approaches in online design education and suggests broader applications for promoting reflective and creative learning experiences.
