Objective: Degenerative arthritis is a disease that causes degeneration and inflammation in the articular cartilage, subchondral bone tissue, and synovium. The articular cartilage reduces friction between bones and provides a surface capable of bearing heavy loads; therefore, when degenerative arthritis occurs, pain appears in the joint. Diagnosis is made through findings on conventional radiography, such as joint space narrowing, osteophyte formation, subchondral sclerosis, and cysts, and its prevalence increases with aging. Case Report: This case study involved a male patient in his 80s diagnosed with degenerative arthritis who underwent Ortho-Cellular Nutrition Therapy (OCNT) for six months. The patient experienced a sensation of heat in the dorsum of the foot and severe pain in the knees and shoulders. Nutrients were prescribed, including anthocyanin, omega-3 fatty acids, selenium, and MSM. As a result of consistently taking the nutrients prescribed through OCNT, the patient reported improvement in the pain in his knees and shoulders. Conclusion: This case study confirmed that symptoms improved and quality of life was enhanced within a short period through personalized treatment. However, additional validation through clinical research is considered necessary for general application to patients with degenerative arthritis.
Objective: Mental health refers to overall psychological well-being that enables individuals to function smoothly and contribute as members of society. Recently, the incidence of mental disorders that affect this well-being has surged, and studies have reported that such conditions can significantly impact quality of life. Various treatment approaches—such as psychological counseling, occupational therapy, and pharmacological treatment—are currently being applied. However, pharmacological treatments often face criticism due to unclear mechanisms of action or emerging concerns about side effects. As a result, the modern trend is shifting toward personalized psychiatry, which applies diverse treatment methods tailored to each patient's specific symptoms. Case Report: This case study focuses on a woman in her 80s who has been experiencing symptoms of mental disorders, including long-standing depression, anxiety, and insomnia. She also exhibited aggressive verbal and behavioral patterns to the extent that communication was difficult. To address these symptoms, Ortho-Cellular Nutrition Therapy (OCNT) was applied, utilizing nutrients such as anthocyanins, vitamins B, C, and E, zinc, and magnesium, as well as natural extracts including hemp seed oil, bamboo leaf, St. John's wort, passionflower, ginkgo leaf, and fennel. As a result, there was a significant alleviation of the patient's symptoms related to depression, anxiety, and insomnia, along with a noticeable improvement in her ability to communicate. Conclusion: This case study demonstrates that OCNT, which considers the patient's circumstances, can significantly improve symptoms related to mental disorders such as depression, anxiety, and insomnia, as well as enhance cognitive function. Although this study's limitation lies in its focus on a single case, the observed improvement in symptoms and the resulting enhancement in the patient's quality of life are considered meaningful.
Objective: There are sphincters located at both the upper and lower ends of the esophagus to prevent the backward flow of food. When these sphincters become relaxed or remain open for an extended period, the contents in the stomach can reflux into the esophagus, leading to mucosal damage and resulting in reflux esophagitis. Common symptoms include pyrosis, dysphagia, and regurgitation, and the condition is frequently observed in both adults and children. Case Report: The patient in this case study was a Korean woman in her 50s with a history of long-term use of antibiotics and antiviral medications. Following this, she complained of gastrointestinal symptoms, including dyspepsia and gastric atony. In response, Ortho-Cellular Nutrition Therapy (OCNT) was applied, prescribing anthocyanin, collagen, probiotics, mucin, and Scutellaria baicalensis root. After approximately six months of continuous nutritional intervention, the patient reported an improvement in symptoms of reflux esophagitis. Conclusion: The OCNT prescribed according to the patient’s condition was found to have a positive effect on the improvement of reflux esophagitis symptoms. Although this case study is based on an individual case and has limitations in terms of generalizability, the significant improvement in the patient’s health status suggests that the outcome is meaningful.
