본 연구는 통합적 동기-의지 모델을 기반으로 20대 청년의 자살생각, 자살행동에 영향을 미치는 동기 단계 요인(패배감, 내적 속박감, 외적 속박감, 좌절된 소속감)과 의지 단계 요인(습득된 자살 잠재력-죽음에 대한 두려움 감소, 주변인 및 미디어를 통한 자살 노출 수준)을 확인하고, 자살생각 집단과 자살행동 집단 간 차이를 분석하고자 하였다. 이를 위해 2023년 3월부터 5월까지 자료수집이 이루어졌으며, 총 828명의 자료가 분석에 사용되었다. 비자살 집단 477명, 자살생각 집단 226명, 자살행동 집단 125명으로 집단이 분류되었다. 다항 로지스틱 회귀분석을 실시한 결과, 내적 속박감, 좌절된 소속감, 미디어를 통한 자살 노출 수준이 자살생각을 예측하는 것으로 나타났으며, 패배감과 죽음에 대한 두려움 감소, 주변인 및 미디어를 통한 자살 노출 수준이 자살행동을 예측하는 것으로 나타났다. 나아가, 동기 단계 요인 중 패배감과 의지 단계 요인 중 죽음에 대한 두려움 감소, 주변인을 통한 자살 노출 수준이 자살생각 집단과 자살행동 집단을 구분하는 요인으로 확인되었다. 이를 바탕으로 본 연구의 시사점 및 한계점을 제시하였다.
This study aimed to identify motivational variables (defeat, internal and external entrapment, thwarted belongingness) and volitional variables (fearlessness about death, interpersonal and media suicide exposure) predicting suicidal ideation and behavior in young adults in their 20s. It also explores differences in these variables between suicidal ideation and suicidal behavior, based on the integrated motivation-volition model. Data from 828 participants were analyzed to compare three groups: non-suicidal (477), suicidal ideation (226), and suicidal behavior (125). Multinomial logistic regression revealed that internal entrapment, thwarted belongingness, and media exposure predicted suicidal ideation, while defeat, fearlessness about death, and both interpersonal and media suicide exposure predicted suicidal behavior. Defeat, fearlessness about death, and interpersonal suicide exposure distinguished suicidal ideation from suicidal behavior. The implications and limitations are discussed based on the results.
