Abstract

This research is investigating whether there is the symbolical relationship between Karma Ethos in Yijing and KFD(Kinetic Family Drawing) in Art Therapy. The Karma Ethos is the personal type theory to offer the various informations on the family dynamics with the symbolical interpretations as a harmonious combination or inharmonious combinations i.e. hêng, tshong, pua, hai(punishment, clash, destroy, harm). And KFD is able to immediately interpret the intimacy and interrelations between family members and is the major check picture projection which can grasp the client's psychological states by the criteria of dynamis drawing analysis(order, size, position, distance, direction, omit, description of others, shade, facial expressions, rotated character, stick character). With the hypothesis that have common symbols dynamically to interpret the dynamics between family members, the expressions of destiny and the drawings of man and woman are compared and analysed. As a results, we have confirmations that one tends to have harmonious expression of destiny describes one’s family relation as peaceful with stable composition in KFD. On the other hand, it shows that one tends to have inharmonious expression of destiny describes one’s family relation as nervous with unstable composition in KFD. This research examines the symbolical correlativity between Karma Ethos in Yijing and KFD in Art Therapy through the actual cases. The significance of this research is to illuminate the correlativity between Yijing and Art Therapy, in an attempt to understand the human being from various angles. Also, this research examines the symbolical correlativity to apply the Karma Ethos and KFD and analyse that results in actual counseling.
