Abstract

This study examines the research landscape of Sign Language Policy using bibliometric analysis of Author Keywords and Keyword Plus data. Co-occurrence network and thematic map analyses reveal that Author Keywords highlight niche themes in specialized subfields, while Keyword Plus identifies broader, interdisciplinary connections. Thematic maps categorize research themes into Motor, Niche, Emerging or Declining, and Basic Themes, showcasing their developmental stages and significance. A comprehensive analysis of the themes and network structures of sign language policy data, acquired by bibliometric analysis, enables the understanding of keyword interactions, identification of research trends, and forecasting of future research fields. These insights inform evidence-based policymaking, addressing research gaps and promoting inclusivity, accessibility, and linguistic rights for Deaf communities worldwide.
