본 연구는 청소년의 비자살적 자해의 기능을 평가하기 위해 한국판 자해기능 평가지(The Functional Assessment of Self-Mutilation [FASM])를 타당화하고, 단축형 및 초단축형을 개발하는 것을 목적으로 하였다. 분석 대상은 최근 12개월 내 자해 경험이 있고 자살의도가 없는 것이 확인된 청소년 377명을 선별하였으며 탐색적 요인분석(EFA), 확인적 요인분석(CFA), Rasch 평정척도모형을 활용하여 척도의 구조적 타당성과 신뢰도, 문항의 적합성을 검토하였다. 분석 결과, FASM은 사회정적 강화, 내적 강화, 사회부적 강화의 3요인 구조로 확인되었으며, 총 17문항이 최종 선정되었다. 또한, 각 요인별 대표 문항을 선별하여 9문항의 단축형과 6문항의 초단축형을 개발하였다. 단축형과 초단축형은 원척도와 높은 상관을 보였으며, 세 척도 모두 신뢰도와 수렴․준거 타당도가 확보되었다. 이러한 결과는 한국 청소년 집단에서 FASM이 자해 행동의 기능적 특성을 간결하고 신뢰성 있게 평가할 수 있는 도구임을 시사하며, 임상 현장과 학교, 지역사회에서의 조기 개입 및 디지털 기반 정신건강 서비스 개발에 활용될 수 있음을 보여준다.
This study aimed to validate the Korean version of the Functional Assessment of Self-Mutilation (FASM) for assessing non-suicidal self-harm (NSSI) behaviors among adolescents and to develop short and ultra-short forms of the measure. Participants 377 adolescents who had engaged in NSSI within the past year without suicidal intent. Exploratory factor analysis, confirmatory factor analysis, and the Rasch measurement model supported a three-factor structure-social positive reinforcement, internal reinforcement, and social negative reinforcement-comprising 17 items. Representative items were selected to create a 9-item short form and a 6-item ultra-short form. Both abbreviated forms showed strong correlations with the original scale, and all versions demonstrated satisfactory reliability as well as convergent and criterion validity. These findings suggest that the FASM is an effective tool for evaluating the functional characteristics of NSSI behaviors among Korean adolescents and may serve as a valuable resource for early intervention and digital mental health services in clinical, school, and community settings.
