Abstract

The national classics could be a kind of regional, racial, and national spirit. We can regard the national classics as studies different from universal studies as a kind of special studies. But, studies have been formed through human activities so that all studies can be special studies. Through competition between special studies, universal studies can be formed. We should cultivate and develop our national classics, and make it known over the world. This is not only related to our self esteem but also a way to contribute to culture of human race. If so, what is the most important and efficient method for the way? That is the very ‘standardization of text(Authentic book: 定本化)’ and ‘Reading book(讀本化).’ Standardization of text means to make printing version reliable through historical investigation about literature like critical edition etc. Reading book means to give objective interpretation so that one can easily access to the authentic book after standardization of text. If this done, this can give immense influences on not only stable study for the national classics in Korea but also international study for Korean Studies.
