Because of the neglected research on the context, the critical views of Saewonga in a series written by Jeong Cheol(鄭澈) had a few misunderstanding unexpected until now. For example, simply understanding “人事”(the affairs of man’s life) as ‘答禮’(a bow) and understanding “원”(a landlord of inn)as ‘원님’(a propraetor of provincial government office) is very unfair misconception. For this cases, we tried to consider some context needed to properly understand Saewonga in a series written by Jeong Cheol. Jeong Cheol had produced the part 2 of Saewonga shortly after he retired from office as a result of the Leesoo(李銖)’s bribery case, in Koyang(高陽)1579, his 44‒year ‒old summer. Therefore, this fact means that the part 1of Saewonga also had produced in this period. But the part 3 of Saewonga has a little different signs of language when compared with those. By the distinct points that refusing the visits of political figures, the part 3 of Saewonga appears to have been produced shortly after he deposed as a partisan of Simuigyeom(沈義謙) in 1585, his 50 ‒year‒old september. For Sinwon(新院) of Koyang, there was never placed an innkeeper who had given with lands officially from the country. This is the reason why Jeong Cheol pretends himself as an innkeeper. The strangers who Jeong Cheol met was usually the people on the road that could not refuse from their life within barely more than two or three mal(a unit of measure) of rice. The verse of “人事도 하도 할샤”(There are so many things to be for our life) on the part 1 of Saewonga is a sigh accruing from watching sadly for these comings and goings.
