초록
이 연구에서는 1920년대 중국의 기독교 비판운동의 역사적 전개, 그리고 기독교 비판운동 초기에 진행된 기독교 논쟁의 내용을 간략하게 살펴보았다. 특히1920년대 초기 기독교 비판운동의 내용 중에서 기독교의 본래적 사유 흐름을 위주로 ‘예수의 인격’, ‘기독교 신학과 교회’, ‘기독교의 사랑’ 등 기독교의 본질과관련된 부분을 위주로 기독교 비판과 대응을 검토했다. 또한 주즈신과 천두슈, 먀오펑린 등 비기독교계의 비판과 량쥔모와 장이징 등 기독교계의 변론에 대해서주된 내용과 그 논리를 중점적으로 살펴보았다. 전반적으로 1920년대 기독교 비판운동의 기독교 비판은, 이전 시기 기독교의보유론(補儒論)적 시선에 주목하는 이론적 비판이나 삶의 형식에 대한 기독교 비판(典禮論爭)과는 달랐다. 특히 이 시기 기독교 비판은 5.4 신문화운동에 의한 유교 문화에 대한 자기 성찰과 함께, 중국 지식인들의 서구 사상에 대한 폭넓은 수용과 이해를 기반으로 전개되었다. 따라서 1920년대 초기 기독교 비판 과정은, 적어도 이론적 측면에서는 기독교의 본질적 가치를 성찰했다고 볼 수 있다.

Abstract
This study presents an overview of the historical development of the AntiChristian Movement in 1920s China and the early debates on Christianity that arose during its initial phase. It examines key discussions on the personality of Jesus, Christian theology and the church, and the spirit of Christian love, which relate to the core nature of Christianity and influenced both anti-Christian critiques and Christian responses. The study highlights the arguments and reasoning of anti-Christian intellectuals such as Zhu Zhi-xin, Chen Du-xiu, and Miao Fenglin, as well as the defenses offered by Christian thinkers including Liang Jun-mo and Zhang Yi-jing. Overall, anti-Christian critiques in the 1920s differed markedly from earlier theoretical and ritual criticisms (典禮論爭), which interpreted Christianity through Buryu lun (補儒論) framework as a supplement to Confucianism. Instead, discourse during this period developed within the context of the May Fourth New Culture Movement, which emphasized self-reflection on Confucian culture and broader engagement with Western thought. Thus, early 1920s criticism of Christianity can be seen, at least theoretically, as a reflection on the core values of Christianity.
