본 연구의 목적은 트랜스젠더에 대한 포용적 태도 및 행동 척도(Transgender-Inclusive Attitude and Behavior Scale [TIABS])를 개발하고 척도의 신뢰도와 타당도를 검증하는 것이다. 관련 문헌과 트랜스젠더 당사자의 인터뷰 자료를 검토하고 델파이 조사를 통해 33개의 예비문항을 선정하였다. 600명의 표본으로 탐색적 요인분석을 한 결과, 4요인 구조가 전체 변량의 62.28%을 설명하여 척도의 안정적 구조를 확인하였다. 하위요인은 ‘일반적 우호적 태도’, ‘적극적 옹호 및 연대’, ‘친밀한 관계 내 우호적 태도’, ‘구조적 문제 인식’으로 명명하였다. 다른 600명의 표본으로 확인적 요인분석을 실시한 결과, 최종 4요인 29문항 구조가 적합한 것으로 확인되었다. TIABS의 전체 내적합치도는 .96, 하위요인은 .89~.92로 높은 신뢰도를 보였다. 구성타당도를 확인한 결과, 트랜스젠더에 대한 태도 및 믿음, 다문화수용성, 비판적 의식과는 정적 상관을 보였고 다면성별의식과는 부적 상관을 나타냈다. 정당한 세상에 대한 믿음, 사회적 바람직성, 성역할 척도와는 유의미한 상관이 나타나지 않았다. TIABS는 기존 변인(성소수자 교류 여부, 비판적 의식, 다면성별의식, 다문화수용성) 외에도 트랜스젠더에 대한 태도 및 믿음의 32.3%를 추가적으로 설명하였다. 본 연구는 한국적 맥락에서 트랜스젠더 포용을 측정하는 신뢰롭고 타당한 척도를 제공한다.
This study developed and validated the Transgender-Inclusive Attitude and Behavior Scale (TIABS). A literature review and interviews with transgender individuals identified 33 preliminary items via a Delphi survey. An exploratory factor analysis (EFA) with 600 participants revealed a four-factor structure explaining 62.28% of the variance: “General Favorable Attitudes,” “Active Advocacy and Solidarity,” “Favorable Attitudes in Close Relationships,” and “Recognition of Structural Issues.” A confirmatory factor analysis (CFA) with another 600 participants confirmed the 29-item structure. The TIABS showed high reliability (α = .96) and construct validity, with positive correlations with transgender attitudes, multicultural acceptance, and critical consciousness, and negative correlations with multifaceted gender identity. It also demonstrated incremental validity, explaining an additional 32.3% of variance in attitudes and beliefs about transgender individuals beyond variables such as LGBTQ+ interaction status, critical consciousness, multifaceted gender identity, and multicultural acceptance. These findings establish the TIABS as a reliable tool for assessing transgender inclusion in Korea.
