Determining cultural value among determinants of national competitiveness has recently been emphasized. This paper aims to investigate the economic effect of cultural vaalue and the cultural products within cultural value is embedded. the painting arts market is where cultural logic meets market logic. For the development of this market, the above logics should be balanced. The current market system in Korea needs to be more market-driven and the value of the art products needs to reflect market demand rather than the the current practice of price-setting by painters and agents.
