Abstract
This paper reviews the political activity of NCDC(National Coalition for Democratic Constitution) during the period of 1987 constitutional amendment negotiation. NCDC did not drive active political movement for democratic constitution because the liberal members of NCDC strove to establish democratic government. They insisted upon the ‘revolution by presidential election' and the unified support to the opposition candidate. And the progressive members of NCND argued against the ‘revolution by presidential election' and insisted upon the people's rights and socioeconomic democratization. But the progressive bloc could not establish unified political strategy. In the party negotiation of constitutional amendment the ‘principle of constitutional amendment' of NCDC was disregarded by the opposition party, and the two competitive opposition candidates lost in the presidential election. And through the 1987 constitutional amendment process NCDC lost popular support and political influence. Though some members of NCDC succeeded to be a representative of National Assembly, the political activity of NCDC was failed.
