본 연구는 잠재프로파일 분석을 통해 성인들이 가진 죽음태도의 하위집단을 확인하고, 잠재집단별 심리적 특성에 차이가 있는지 검증한 연구이다. 이를 위해 만 18세 이상 성인을 대상으로 온라인 설문조사를 실시하였으며, 총 442명의 자료를 분석에 활용하였다. SPSS 23.0을 통해 기술통계 및 상관관계를 확인하고, Mplus 8.0으로 잠재프로파일 분석을 하였다. 잠재집단 구분에 영향을 미치는 요인과 잠재집단에 따른 심리적 특성의 차이를 확인하기 위해 3단계 접근법을 활용하였다. 심리적 특성은 부정적 특성(불안, 우울, 자살사고)와 긍정적 특성(심리적 안녕감의 하위요인: 환경지배력, 개인적 성장, 긍정적 대인관계, 자아수용, 자율성, 삶의 목적)으로 나누어 살펴보았다. 연구의 결과는 다음과 같다. 첫째, 성인의 죽음태도에 대한 잠재프로파일 분석 결과, 5개 유형으로 분류되는 것을 확인하였다. 5개의 유형은 중립적 수용 집단, 복합적 수용 집단, 거부적 집단, 양가적 집단, 모호한 집단으로 명명하였다. 둘째, 몇몇의 인구통계학적 변인과 죽음 관련 경험이 죽음태도 잠재집단 구분에 영향을 미치는 것으로 나타났다. 셋째, 죽음태도 잠재집단에 따라 심리적 특성에 유의한 차이가 있는 것으로 나타났다. 이러한 연구 결과를 바탕으로 본 연구의 시사점과 제한점 및 후속 연구를 위한 제언을 논의하였다.
This study explores subgroups of adults’ attitudes toward death using latent profile analysis and examines the psychological differences among them. Data from 442 adults aged 18 and older were collected through an online survey. Descriptive statistics and correlations were analyzed using SPSS 23.0, and latent profile analysis was conducted with Mplus 8.0. Psychological characteristics were categorized as negative traits (anxiety, depression, suicidal ideation) and positive traits (psychological well-being dimensions: environmental mastery, personal growth, positive relations, self-acceptance, autonomy, and purpose in life). The results of this study are as follows. First, the latent profile analysis of adults’ attitudes toward death revealed five latent groups: single neutral acceptance, complex acceptance, rejection, ambivalence, and ambiguity. Second, demographic variables and death-related experiences influenced latent group classification. Third, significant psychological differences were observed among the latent groups. Based on these findings, the study discusses its implications, limitations, and offers suggestions for future research.
