본 연구에서는 완벽주의 유형이 분류되는 양상을 규명하고, 유형 간 심리적 특성 차이를 확인하며, 각 유형을 예측하는 요인을 부모요인, 개인요인, 환경요인의 관점에서 통합적으로 탐색하였다. 이를 위해 성인 385명을 대상으로 완벽 성향, 부모 양육 행동, 기질, 지각된 능력주의, 행복, 열등감 척도를 실시하고, 잠재프로파일 분석과 머신러닝 분석을 수행하였다. 분석 결과, 완벽주의 유형은 적응적 완벽주의, 부적응적 완벽주의, 비완벽주의, 완벽압력 유형으로 구분되었다. 심리적 특성 비교에서는 부적응적 완벽주의, 완벽압력 유형이 적응적 완벽주의, 비완벽주의 유형보다 행복 수준은 낮고 열등감 수준은 높은 것으로 나타났다. 머신러닝 분석 결과, 적응적 완벽주의 유형은 높은 애정, 낮은 비일관성, 높은 의도적 통제, 낮은 행동억제, 낮은 부정정서에 의해 예측되었다. 부적응적 완벽주의 유형은 높은 감독, 높은 과잉간섭, 높은 부정정서, 높은 지각된 능력주의가 주요 예측요인으로 나타났다. 비완벽주의 유형은 낮은 과잉기대, 낮은 부정정서, 낮은 지각된 능력주의와 관련된 것으로 나타났다. 완벽압력 유형은 높은 학대, 높은 방치, 낮은 사회적 민감성, 높은 부정정서가 주요 요인으로 작용하였다. 각 유형의 발달에 대한 가설적 추론을 제시하였고, 본 연구의 의의와 한계점을 논의하였다.
This study explored the classification of perfectionism types, their psychological characteristics, and predictors across parental, personal, and environmental domains. 385 Korean adults completed self-report measures assessing perfectionism, parenting, temperament, meritocracy, well-being, and inferiority. Latent profile analysis identified four types: adaptive perfectionism, maladaptive perfectionism, non-perfectionism, and perfectionistic pressure. The maladaptive and perfectionistic pressure types showed lower happiness and higher inferiority than the other two types. Machine learning analyses revealed predictors for each type. Adaptive perfectionism was associated with high affection, low inconsistency, high effortful control, low behavioral inhibition, and low negative emotionality. Maladaptive perfectionism was predicted by high monitoring, high intrusiveness, high negative emotionality, and high perceived meritocracy. Non-perfectionism was related to low over-expectations, low negative emotionality, and low perceived meritocracy. Perfectionistic pressure was associated with high abuse, high neglect, low social sensitivity, and high negative emotionality. This study offers theoretical insights into the developmental trajectories of each type of perfectionism.
