This study presents an investigation into Cheonuisogam published during the reign of King Yeongjo, the publication process of its eonhaebon, and its bibliographical characteristics. There are 15 kinds of Mushinjabon, a metal type version, 7 kinds of wooden type, and 3 kinds of transcription remaining and housed at 12 institutions. Of the 12 kinds of Wanjil Mushinjabon, 7 are Naesabon. 8 kinds of Cheonuisogameonhae are housed at four institutions. The eonhae transcription housed at the Gyujanggak has great research value in caligraphy as well as the study of Korean language. It was first published in December of the 31st year of King Yeongjo’s reign. It is very likely that it was supplied to the Great queen. The fact that Dogam was set up and published Cheonuisogam by the king’s order makes a typical case of books published by government offices, especially the ones published by Dogam by the king’s order and the publication process, thus claiming important significance. The study examined the process by consulting the records from Uigue, Seungjeongwonilgi, and Shilrok and added several new facts regarding the publication of Cheonuisogam. The detailed information about the publication of the remaining Cheonuisogam and Cheonuisogameonhae will hopefully become the foundation for the study in the area.
